50 KIDS TO SEW AND STUFF 100 TOTE BAGS FOR ORANGE COUNTY HOMELESS
KHLOE KARES teams up with FASHION CAMP to Bring Kids Together To Do Good
Over 50 kids will volunteer to sew 100 tote bags, to be filled with daily necessities and delivered to homeless women in Orange County. The kids will do all the work – tracing and cutting patterns, pinning, ironing and sewing. Once the bags are complete, they’ll stuff the bags with toiletries that have been donated – and many of the donated products will come from the kids working the evening’s event! The completed bags will distributed to Orange County’s homeless women.
KHLOE KARES – Khloe Thompson, a 9-year old Orange County native, has a mission to serve others, no matter your age. The purpose of her organization’s Kare Bags is to fill the handmade creations with items we use on a daily basis (soap, lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, feminine products, socks) and give them to homeless women on the streets. She sews up tote bags with her grandmother, then fills them with necessities and donates them to homeless women around Southern California.
FASHION CAMP – CREATE. DESIGN. SEW. – A creative learning space teaching all things fashion to kids, teens and adults in Tustin, CA. Our year round curriculum includes daily sewing classes and workshops, Girl Scout programs, birthday parties, on-campus After School Enrichment programs, Home School programs and Membership programs.
50 VOLUNTEERS – Will be made up of many Fashion Camp Members – those kids who sew on a regular basis at the studio, as well as supporters of Khloe Kares. The process of creating and stuffing the 100 Kare Bags will be done entirely by kids, ages 8-16.
